Michel Herbelin: A very stylish French manufactured watch using Swiss made components. Michele Herbelin offer a wide range of watches in the price range £250 to £3000.

Tissot: In our opinion one of the best quality and value for money Swiss brands on the market. A well established brand, founded in 1853, it is continually being developed and has always been at the forefront of new technology. Tissot's most recent technology advance has been with the "Touch" watch which featured in the Lara Croft "Tomb Raider" film. The watch gives a barometric reading, has a thermometer, altimeter, compass and chronograph all activated by touching the watch crystal. Tissot watches are priced from £70 with an average price of approximately £200.

Rotary: A long established British company offering a superb range of mainly traditional designs to suit all age groups. Prices range form £50 to £350 for none-precious metal examples.

Citizen: The biggest producer of watches in the world offers a suberb range of watches ranging in price from under £50 to around £500. One of their latest ranges of "dressier" watches is the ultra slim Stiletto - the world's slimmest light powered watch. Citizen's light powered "Eco Drive" watches do not require batteries - artificial light is sufficient to charge an internal capacitor which keeps the watch running even after being stored in darkness for up to six months.

Accurist: Robert Adair Jewellers has sold Accurist watches for many years and the brand has a proven track record, representing a good reliable watch at an affordable price - from £35 to around £200.

Fontenay: This ladies' watch is relatively new to the UK and offers French flair and style at a very affordable price. In our view, there isn't a more stylish and feminine watch on the market in this price range - £50 to £200.
